Email storage limits for all accounts is 5Gb

Resolution Steps

 

RCN Email and Server Information

  • Incoming IMAP Mail Server (To receive email)

    • Standard: imap.rcn.com (Port 143)

    • SSL:  imap.rcn.com - (Port 993) Note: SSL is used for added security. RCN mail does not require SSL


  • Incoming POP Mail Server (To receive email)

    • Standard:  pop.rcn.com - (Port 110)

    • SSL:  pop.rcn.com - (Port 995)  Note: SSL is used for added security. RCN mail does not require SSL


  • Outgoing SMTP Mail Server (To send email)

    • Authentication must be used with either of the two options

      • smtp.rcn.com (Port 25) 

      • smtp.rcn.com alternate port- (Port 587)  TLS with smtp on port 587 is currently enabled 

  • Mail Login Format

    • username@rcn.com ( passwords are case sensitive)


  • DNS #1

    • Primary:  ns1.dns.rcn.net

    • Secondary:  ns2.dns.rcn.net


  • DNS #2

    • Primary:   ns3.dns.rcn.net

    • Secondary:  ns4.dns.rcn.net


  • Dialup POP Locator

  • IP Address

    • server assigned


  • FTP Server

    • ftp.rcn.com - (Port 21)


  • FTP Login Format

    • username (passwords are case sensitive)


  • Customer Homepage URL

    • Have the customer follow this format http://users.rcn.com/the customeruserid/


  • Authentication Type

    • Clear Text Authentication
