Introduction


Human eyes can see only three colors - red, green, and blue

  • All other colors and shades we perceive are the result of our brains interpreting the mixes of red, green, and blue coming from our eyes 

  • Component connections separate these signals to give a fuller, richer video signal that is far superior to a composite or coax connection

Example of Component Video output / input on the back of a TV or converter:

 

 

Standard Component Video (Y Pb Pr) cable; the ends are green (Y), blue (Pb) and red (Pr)

The ends of the cable should color-match to the input / output on the back of the TV and converter

These are video-only connections; separate cords are needed for audio
